School tomorrow

1 min read
School starts back up tomorrow and I'm caught between feeling dread and excitement. I'm defiantly not ready to go back because school is nothing but stressful and difficult, but at the same time, it's the only way I get to see my friends frequently. At least it means I'll be closer to finishing, however.
Anyways, because of school, I'll probably be way less active on this site, which makes me sad and stresses me out. I wish an education didn't entail suffering.

RTX

7 min read
So I got back from RTX 2015 on Sunday and it was by far one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I got to be in the presence of some of the most influential and inspirational people in my life, and experienced things I never thought I'd ever have the opportunity to experience. I may have only attended one day, but it was the most incredible day of my life.
When I first walked through the doors to the convention center on Saturday morning, my nerves were on edge. I was so terrified but so excited at the same time, I couldn't let go of my poor friends hand. She lead me around and helped me out, and we walked past Griffon Ramsey, aka a living goddess. Then we stumbled across the Marble Hornets booth, where the creators of Marble Hornets and the men behind THAC sat, signing DVDs and posters. My heart dropped. I am a huge fan of Marble Hornets and had no idea that they would be attending RTX, and they were LITERALLY right in front of me. I didn't know how to ask for a poster let alone an autograph, so I just stood around shuffling my feet while my friend tried to coax me into talking to them. At some point when their booth was free, I somehow ended up directly in front of Noah and he said hello, and I already knew there was no going back. I felt my brain go out the door and I struggled for a good few seconds trying to formulate a response, but in the end, all that ended up coming out was, "I'm sorry, I'm really nervous", to which Noah replied, "that's okay! We are too, honestly. Is there anything I can get you?"
I found Noah the easiest to talk to by far and (despite him being a huge lumberjack type man, complete with beard), far less intimidating than Joseph, Tim, or Troy. I asked for a THAC poster and MH season 3 on DVD, which were both signed respectively, and I admitted that I was pleasantly surprised to see them at RTX. Noah and I generally conversed about the convention and I avoided eye contact with the other three members because I was genuinely freaked out to even just be standing next to them. At some point however, I ended up making very brief conversation with Tim (which had me practically dead) and then I wished them all a great con which they very happily returned. At this point, my anxiety was at an all time high, but I was still feeling pretty good.
My friend and I walked around a little while longer, checking out all the booths and stores before heading to our first panel, the 10 Little Roosters panel. After waiting in line for a good 30 minutes, we both relaxed and I stated to get tired, having just blew all of my prior energy on being terrified. Once inside the panel room, we were seated really close to the stage and waited another 30 minutes before the panel actually started. Attending was Josh Flannegan, Chris Demaris, Barbara Dunkelmen, Ryan Haywood, Miles Luna, Adam Kovic, and another man of whom I unfortunately don't recall. The panel was hilarious, and very enlightening. A lot was revealed about the production of the series that I found very surprising and interesting, and it was generally a very fun time. One of my favorite moments from the panel was when Ryan was talking about the final scene in the final episode when he and Barbara have a battle and Ryan gets hit with raw meat. Ryan said "It was really weird, I was just getting slapped in the face with meat over and over." Then Josh said "and then you went to go film 10 Little Roosters."
Unfortunately, we had to leave a little early to attend out next panel, The Creatures panel. I am a huge Creatures fan, but my friend had never seen them before, so she kinda just went along to keep me company. While outside, walking to get in line, I noticed Dexter Manning of the Creatures standing against a wall and waved at him, saying hello. To my utter surprise and excitement, he waved back and blew a kiss. I was a puddle by then.
Let me just start by saying that The Creatures are probably the most high energy, exciting, and crazy youtubers I have ever seen, and even more so live and in the flesh. The panel started out with a video playing at the front where James brings Baboo and Molly (the toy monkeys) back to life through science, thus reuniting the couple. Then, from behind us, the door to the panel room SWINGS OPEN, and in marches all of the creatures, James, Spencer, and intern Joe leading the group holding Baboo and Molly wearing wedding attire, while James was dressed like a priest and Joe wore an orange tuxedo shirt. "Here Comes the Bride" starts to play while they all march up to a podium at the front of the room, everyone screaming and hollering. The Creatures are about to wed the monkeys, and James is about to begin the vows before he looks at Joe (still wearing his signature chicken mask) and say "that's not traditional! You have to take that off!"
The crowd starts YELLING for Joe to take off his mask (including myself) as we have all never seen his face before, but my initial thought was "He's just teasing, he'd never take off that mask." Then Joe starts motioning for the crowd to get louder, which we all did, and next thing I know, Joe has ripped off his mask and the crowd is just absolutely losing its mind. I don't think I've ever screamed that loud at a concert. Then, the wedding was held and Baboo and Molly were wed, then sent backstage to have their honeymoon, which was shown live on the projectors upfront. Baboo and Molly were inevitably murdered, their corpses discovered by James, who then also discovered that the two monkeys had a child. Then, James, leading Jordan, Aleks and Dan, marched back to the front of the stage and threw the new born into the crowd after briefly singing "The Circle of Life". It was just a high energy panel, so much happened all at once, there wasn't a single boring moment, and my hands got sore from clapping and hollering so much. A few new videos were shown, the guys talked, a few questions were asked, and I left with restored energy. Afterwards, my friend and I were free to wander the main convention floor and explore the booths and the RT store, where I purchased new Achievement Hunter PJ's, some slap bracelets, and an X-Ray and Vav poster. We had dinner after the convention, then went back to our hotel room and slept.
It was such an amazing day, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. The trip was great, Austin was incredible, and the people there were so amazing, I can't even express how privileged I was to be there.

Judging by my last journal entry (which I've deleted), it's been a little over a year since the last time I was on this site. I left on a bad note due to some issues going on in my personal life, but since then things have gotten progressively better, which I am very thankful for.
As you might notice, I've deleted all my old deviations (save for some old cosplay photos that I still like) as well as all my old journals. This is because I hated all of my old art and decided that I might as well restart with a clean slate anyways. My art, since I last submitted, has gotten substantially better, and I'm very proud of the progress I've made in such a short time. That being said, I probably wont be posting here as often as I used to out of inconvenience, but I do have an Instagram where I post my art habitually. It's koko_the_clown, if anyone is interested.
Anyways, I know no one is going to actually read this post, but I decided that I might as well write this to help me sort out my own thoughts. I appreciate no one giving me shit about my old, terrible art while I was gone.

   Until next time,

   -Tux
